Daal (दाल) is an Indian recipe, made with lentils. It comes in many variations: with pumpkins, with or without coconut milk, and even with meat. For Rohan's recipe, we will enjoy a quick and easy vegetarian version of this classic!
1 tsp. olive oil
3 garlic cloves
1 tsp. fresh ginger
2 tsp. turmeric
2 tsp. garam masala
200g dried red lentils
1 can chopped tomatoes
2 cups vegetable broth
Chop onions, garlic, and chilli.
Add olive oil to a pan and fry onions for roughly 5 minutes.
Add garlic, ginger and chilli and cook for a few minutes.
Sprinkle the turmeric and garam masala into the pan and cook.
Combine lentils, canned tomatoes, and vegetable broth.
Cook for 15-20 minutes.
Serve with rice and fresh coriander.
